Weather Metrics rebrand to WM Vision

Overview

The client is a software and hardware company that works with time lapse cameras. They were already in the process of rebuilding their website and would use that as an opportunity to move away from Weather Metrics as a company name.


Globe, Dynamic, Arrows


The client had established colors and typefaces and provided three main words they wanted me to keep in mind as we workshopped a logo: Globe, Dynamic and Arrows. They thought arrows could convey transmission and movement.

I was fortunate enough to have time to brainstorm with them to get to the core of what they were looking for. As they chose a basic concept they liked we would refine, asking each step of the way, "Why does this work?", "What does it say?" and "Is it functional?"

Coming into this process, the client was looking for the following:

  • A transition logo with the phrase "formerly weather metrics"

  • A final logo of just WM Vision

  • A single color logo for both the transition logo and the final logo

  • An option for a stacked logo and a side by side logo


Overall the client was extremely pleased with the end result, and when they ordered new shirts and jackets, their vendor even requested to use the logo in their catalog.
