Coconut Cafe goes Resort
Overview
The clients were owners of a breakfast concept in the middle of San Pedro, Belize. They were preparing to open a second location at an upscale resort on the lagoon side of the island, so they needed to update their branding. Their goal was to appeal to the guests of this resort, become a destination spot for guests outside the resort, and maintain their brand presence with their current customer base.
Still Kind of 90's
They wanted to upgrade their customer experience and branding without getting too far away from the authentic vibe of San Pedro that could expand and scale to upcoming website updates as well.
We kept the symmetrical palm trees and a statement font for the logo, but streamlined it to a darker, more saturated single color. The navy could be used as a throughline to ground the brand, but keep the teals and oranges as secondary colors to indicate breakfast and lunch. The homage to their old logo and location helped ensure they wouldn't confuse their regulars.
Coming into this process, the client was looking for the following:
A way to make their build-your-own menus translate well to a luxe resort
Menus they could easily modify when they have seasonal shortages or item changes without starting over from scratch
A website equipped for eCommerce and reservations
Breakfast, lunch, cocktail menus and templates of custom small menus for the resort welcome baskets that could easily be updated and printed locally
